Sharon Denise (Finney) Jones

Sharon  Denise Finney Jones, 68, of Fieldale, VA transitioned on Monday, September 1, 2025 at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC.  She was born October 9, 1956 a daughter of the late Carl and Hazel Craighead Finney.

She was a homemaker and a member of New Bethel Christian Church (DOC) where she served on the Usher ministry, Church board, Disciple Women's ministry, Choir, Sunday school and the Piedmont District Convention.

She is survived by three daughters, Tawanna Finney, of Axton, VA; Tiffany  Finney-Jones, of Greensboro, NC; and Khanesha Owens, of Norfolk, VA; three sons, Azarius  and Alexander Finney, both of Roanoke, VA; and Shaquile Finney, of Fieldale, VA; one sister, Rev. Mable Finney of Fieldale, VA; one brother, William Dallas, of Fayetteville, NC; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Merinda Easley, Eulogist.  Burial will follow in the Finney-Craighead family cemetery in Fieldale, VA.  The family will receive friends at the chapel one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home of her sister  (Mable) 228 Waycross Drive, Fieldale, VA at other times.  A floating visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.
