Robert Lee Holland

Robert Holland, 90, of Ridgeway, VA was born March 4, 1933.

He departed this life on September 4, 2023 at Mulberry Creek Nursing and Rehab Center in Martinsville, VA.

He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Ridgeway, VA.

Robert worked several jobs in his lifetime, Moses Cone, W. M. Bassett and at Bassett-Walker until they closed their local plants in 2006, and Lowes until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eliza Holland; adopted parents Stephen Daniel "Buss" and Lizzie Dillard Holland, nine brothers, Ralph, Phillip, Johnnie, Frank and Ralph Holland, Norman Moore, Alvin Swain, and David and Eddie Dillard; two sisters, Hazel Edwards and Marjorie Holland, and one step grandson, Byron Taylor.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Vivian Stone, of Ridgeway, VA; one step daughter, Patricia Ziglar, of Danville, VA; two sisters, Mary Dillard and Rebecca Dillard-Campbell; forur grandchildren, Monte Stone, of California, Shannetta Stone, of Richmond, VA; Geno Stone, of Chicago, IL and Nina Stone, of Houston, TX; six great grandchildren, one one great-great grandson, and his caregivers, Vernon and Joan Hairston and Desean Hairston, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Evangelist Dr. Toni Odette Ramey, officiating.  Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.  A public viewing will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services, Inc. and will be at his home at 1861 Old Mill Road, Ridgeway, VA at other times.
