Rebecca Ann (Swanson) Carter

Rebecca Ann Swanson Price Carter, 85, of 3196 Wyatt Farm Road, Axton, VA transitioned on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Sovah Health Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.  She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on July 27, 1937 a daughter of the late Posey and Susanna Haislip Swanson.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Price.

She was a member of New Sharon Grove Baptist Church where she served as church clerk, and the nurses aide ministry.  She was retired from American of Martinsville after 30 years of service.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Carter, Jr., of the home; two sons, Jeffrey and Darryl Price, both of Axton, VA; one step daughter, Mary Burns, of Fayetteville, NC; three step-sons, Ronnie Carter, of Charleston, SC; Richard Carter, of Danville, VA; and Timothy Carter, of Martinsville, VA; and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at New Sharon Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Penn, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at other times.

The family requests that when visiting the home please adhere to all Covid 19 guidelines which include facial coverings and social distancing.
