Pauline (Fontaine) Roher

Pauline Fontaine Roher, 98, of Martinsville, VA departed this life on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Mulberry Creek Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was born in Martinsville, VA on July 25, 1926 a daughter of the late Luther and Mazie Dupee Fontaine.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Roher.

She was retired from the Henry County Public school system after 28 years of service and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where she was the oldest member.  She was also a member of the VEA and NEA.

She is survived by her sister, Argatha Starr of Martinsville, VA and one brother, Edward Fontaine of Martinsville, VA.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2024 at 12:00 at Hines Funeral Services chapel with Rev. Kelvin Perry and Elder Naomi Hodge Muse, officiating.  Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home of her sister, at 1109 B Street at other times.
