Jonta Floshun Carter

Jonta Floshun Carter, 35, of Martinsville, VA transitioned on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.  She was born on May 22, 1990 a daughter of John W. Carter and Shelia Totten Hairston.

She was a graduate of Martinsville High School.

In addition to her parents she is survived by four sister, Janella Davis and Chanel Davis, both of Danville, VA; Janel Davis-Legore. of Newport News, VA; and Natasha Hairston, of Martinsville, VA one brother, Phillip Hairston, of Martinsville, VA.

 Due to inclement weather funeral services have been postponed.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel with Apostle Cynthia Carter, eulogist.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home at 801 Banks Road, Martinsville, VA at other times.  A public viewing was held Friday, January 23, 2026 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services.
