Dana Obie Marshall, Jr.

Dana Obie Marshall, Jr, departed this life on Monday, May 1, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.  He was born in Henry County, VA on March 2, 1951 to the late Dana and Katherine Preston Marshall, Sr.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Marshall.  He attended Henry County public schools and graduated from G. W. Carver High School class of 1969.  Dana joined the U. S. Marines after high school and later received and honorable discharge in 1975.  He later retired from the U. S. Postal service.

He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Diane L. Marshall, of Sanford, NC; Donna F. Preston and Devonia (Kulyias) Swinney, both of Martinsville, VA and Natasha L. Hairston, of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Dytania Payne, of Washington, DC; and Maurice Payne, of Charlotte, NC; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one nephew, one great niece, one great nephew, two aunts and one uncle.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Hines Funeral Services Chapel.
