Clara Fountain Obituary

Clara Roberta Hairston Fountain, 93, of Sanford, NC transitioned on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the home of her daughter in Sanford, NC. She was born in Henry County, VA on September 13, 1929 a daughter of the late Vance and Eva Millner Hairston. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Fountain; one daughter, Sharon Fountain Cobbs; and one son, Kenneth Fountain. She was the last of her generation.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Laurnell Founatan Hand, of Sanford, NC; and one son, Albert Fountain, of Axton, VA; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 12:00 at New Fall Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Herbert Prunty and Michael Preston officiating. Burial will follow in the Hairston Family Cemetery in Axton, VA. The family will receive friends at the church one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at 3216 Hobson Road, Axton, VA at other times.
