Annie Kate (Williams) Hairston

Annie Kate Williams Hairston, 96, of Ridgeway, departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Woltz Hospice Home in Dodson, NC.  She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA a daughter of the late Willie and Lucinda Hairston Williams on May 30, 1929.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hairston.

She was retired from Hooker Furniture Corp, after many years of service was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a former member of the choir.

Cherishing memories of her life, include her daughter, Mary Wade, of Ridgeway, VA; two sisters, Dorothy Cannon, of Martinsville, VA; Lourine Hairston, of Eden, NC; one brother Burnes Williams, of Cascade, VA; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2026 at 12:00 PM Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 13602 Martinsville Highway, Cascade, VA with Rev. F. Dion Noel, officiating.  Burial will follow at Assembly Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cascade, VA.  The family will receive friends at the church one half hour prior to the funeral and will be at the home of her granddaughter Lori (Glen) Hairston at 323 Glen Oak Circle, Ridgeway, VA at other times.
